Your emergency visit

Seen today, with a clear plan.

  1. Call or text us. Tell us what happened and when it started. We will offer you a same day visit Monday through Thursday or Friday morning.
  2. See Dr. Sharma. He examines the area and takes the X rays needed to find the cause, then explains what he sees in plain terms.
  3. Know your options. If you need treatment, we explain your choices and the cost before anything begins. If you have a PPO plan, we file the claim for you.

New patients welcome. You will know every fee before treatment begins.

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 for swelling that spreads toward your eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a high fever.

This guide offers general information, not a diagnosis. Dr. Sharma will confirm what is going on with an exam.

Is it an emergency?

When to call right away.

Call promptly if you have any of the following:

  • A knocked out or displaced permanent tooth
  • Significant facial or gum swelling
  • Bleeding from the mouth that will not stop
  • A fractured tooth with pain
  • A severe or worsening toothache
  • A lost filling or crown
  • Trauma to the teeth or jaws
Go to the emergency room instead

If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading facial or neck swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, loss of consciousness or major facial trauma, seek emergency medical care rather than waiting for a dental office visit.

Before you reach us

What to do in the meantime.

  1. A knocked out permanent tooth. Handle it by the crown, not the root. If it is dirty, rinse it gently without scrubbing. If you can, place it back in the socket; otherwise keep it moist in milk or a tooth preservation solution and call us right away.
  2. A baby tooth. Do not try to replant it. Call us for guidance.
  3. Swelling or a suspected infection. Call promptly so the cause can be evaluated.
  4. Pain relief. Do not place aspirin directly on a tooth or gum. Do not rely on leftover antibiotics to treat a dental infection.
