Our practice was established more than 60 years ago and has been located in the Midtown Area of Palo Alto since 1958. The doctors at Palo Alto Oral Health have served the local community and patients from up and down the Peninsula since that time. We are privileged to often care for three generations of families in our very diverse community and many of those have been in the practice since its inception. Originally started by Drs. Dale Callanan and Stewart Mitchell in the fifties, for the last 36 years Dr. Shawn Sharma, Dr. James Stephens, and Dr. Susan Park have carried on the tradition of conscientious patient centered care, where our dental team forms a partnership with our patients in planning and implementing care.

I have practiced in the Bay Area for 20 years and believe my job is to guide patients through the best decisions for their optimal oral health and to provide conscientious and trustworthy care.
I was born in Palo Alto and completed all of my training in the Bay Area. I perform a broad array of procedures and am continually updating my knowledge on the latest techniques and protocols by attending courses around the country to help my patients achieve their best oral health.
I am the Stanford Team dentist and enjoy volunteering my time at free clinics such as Give Kids a Smile, Berkeley Free Clinic, Special Smiles for the Special Olympics, and Veterans Oral Health Fair. In addition to owning Palo Alto Oral Health, I serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Dental Board of California, am a Board Member for the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, and am an active member of the Dental Artificial Intelligence (AI) Council.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, golfing, and searching for the best ramen in the Bay Area. I live in the Barron Park neighborhood of Palo Alto with my loving wife, Tanya, who’s an oncologist, our wonderful daughter Mira, and our Bernedoodle, Bailey.
